Welcome to the BHS Parents Group!
On Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 7pm in the BHS theater, the BHS Parents Group's Parent Education program will sponsor a session with advocates from Song for Charlie, a non-profit dedicated to providing information about the fentanyl epidemic in our communities. Students, parents and caregivers are invited to this evening of raising awareness and stopping the deaths. Song for Charlie has also generously donated an amount of Naloxone opioid overdose reversal kits to distribute to families of attendees.
Illicit Fentanyl is dominating the drug landscape and causing record numbers of drug deaths in America, particularly among our youth. Learn the facts about fentanyl and take empowered action to protect yourself and your loved ones.
In the illegal drug market, chemicals are way more profitable raw materials than plants. That’s why fentanyl is used to press fake prescription pills, sold deceptively as Xanax, Percocet, Oxycodone & more. It is also found in cocaine, ecstasy, heroin and meth. Drug users are frequently unaware that their drug contains fentanyl, which puts them at extremely high risk of accidental poisoning. That’s why fentanyl is involved in 79% of youth drugs deaths, higher than any other age group.
But we can stop this. Education and advocacy save lives.
Start the conversation. Share the facts. Protect those you love.
